Mid Autumn Moon Festival

Last night I went outside with my husband to find the moon.

This was a very important thing for us because
12 hours before our daughter was in China doing the exact same thing.

She was in China celebrating the Mid Autumn Moon Festival with her foster family.

This is a time of the year when people from all over the world go back home to China to celebrate with their families.

They are celebrating being a family.

For those who can not go home and for those at home with family far away, they look up to the moon.

This is their way of being connected to one another even when they are not able to be together.

They take comfort in the fact that they are able to connect with their family by looking at the same moon that their family has looked at.

I felt connected to Ashlyn and took comfort in the thought that we were looking at the same moon.

I was happy for her because she was in China celebrating.

We ended our time with a beautiful prayer for her.

Not much longer and you'll all be together!!

I really missed seeing you the other night. Your trip is so close and I was hoping to spend some time with you and hear all about your plans, and any specific prayer requests you have before you leave. Please let us know if you need anything. :o)

I love that you joined in the celebration in thoughts of your daughter...and that you ended it with a prayer for her! What a special little piece of your journey to your daughter. It won't be much longer and you will be looking up at the moon TOGETHER!! :)

Blessings and Hugs! <><
